Gucci does Mensah

Last summer Herbie was making more of his kaftan dresses using the finest vintage silk scarves
They have been building momentum for the last couple of years and we style them with vintage gilt link belts
Recently I was flicking through a mag and noticed the Gucci spring/summer ad who I later realised was a pic of Jennifer Lopez and her cute twins on each hip
It wasn't her that drew me to the picture it was the thing she was wearing which was a silk Gucci scarf print tunic dress
It does look beautiful and on further investigation was told by Herbie that yes last year some Italians had bought one of his that so happened to be made with a Gucci silk scarf
We are flattered to be copied - by anyone really

Mensah vintage Girls

We have got some very cool customers!
Im always amazed when one of our regulars appear and pick something off the rails instantly making a garment comes to life!
Selling vintage you discover there is a certain amount of magic involved.
Yesterday a french vintage art deco coat with an electric blue lining was hiding quietly and was teamed with a pair of Vivienne Westwood rocking horse wooden wedge lace ups and the look was truly magnificant!!!

1960s Leonard mini/tunic dress

We have a wonderful Leonard dress in the window this week and its causing a lot of attention.
It has a particularly unusual mis match of colour which somehow works - very psychedlic!! Can't wait to see who will be drawn to this lovely garment.
I'm starting to filter some really nice new stock now the sale stuff is down to one rail and I think its gonna be all reduced for this weekend as I need the rail space for new stock.

On my knee lies our baby Beulah at 8 weeks old, yes being self employed means I can bring her to work.
